Stop the DOL Service Cuts
Labor Commissioner Sharon Palmer
The Department of Labor plans to lay off 95 workers and close regional job centers in Enfield, Meriden, New Britain, Norwich, Torrington and Willimantic, as well as one of two remaining unemployment call centers in the state. We need to speak out and prevent these deep and unacceptable cuts.

We, the undersigned, urge you to assert your leadership and stop the Department of Labor layoffs and office closings. These cuts will seriously damage Connecticut’s economy by making it harder to access unemployment benefits, career services and more; and they will surely do permanent damage to an agency that is critical to the citizens of our state.
