Support A Moratorium on New Schools in St. Louis City

St. Louis City Officials

On January 12th, Saint Louis Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Adams called upon St. Louis City offiicials to commit to a moratorium on new schools, to building a comprehensive plan for school buildings, and to reform the tax incentive abuse currently draining the school district of revenue.

St. Louis City residents have seen a proliferation of privatization efforts that have threatened our public assets, including our own Lambert Airport and now our public schools. We cannot continue to allow self-serving developers to rob our children of a quality education or let shadowy organizations privatize away our tax dollars and deplete resources from our public schools.

We are asking St. Louis City residents to stand in solidarity with Dr. Adams' call and with our Saint Louis Public Schools. Sign the petition and show your support!

(If you are not in St. Louis City, you can indicate so with your zip code and still sign the petition - if you have concerns, please email solidarityslps@gmail.com)

Dear St Louis City Officials,

I stand in support of Superintendent Adams call to impose a moratorium on new schools, to build a comprehensive plan for school buildings, and to reform the tax incentive abuse currently draining the school district of revenue. For too long, we have let self-serving developers and shadowy private organizations harm our public school district and consequently our children. I ask that you commit to supporting SLPS in this effort, and work to build a public school district that serves ALL of our interests in St. Louis City, not just the privateers.

Sincerely,
