REDUCE NUCLEAR RISKS & EMBRACE GOALS OF THE TREATY ON THE PROHIBITION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS
The undersigned request that you support H. Res. 77, introduced by Representatives McGovern and Blumenauer. Please take this action to reduce nuclear risks, protect your constituents, and free up billions of dollars that could be spent helping Americans who need it.
H. Res. 77 calls for the United States to:
actively pursue and conclude negotiations on nuclear arms control and disarmament with Russia, China and the other nuclear-armed countries;
reject first strike and first use of nuclear weapons;
take nuclear weapons off hair-trigger alert;
cancel the trillion-dollar plan to replace the nuclear arsenal of the U.S.
with modernized, enhanced weapons; and
embrace the goals of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
