San Francisco Board of Supervisors

The Housing Action Coalition strongly supports bringing 316 well-designed, well-located new homes for essential workers to the Tenderloin neighborhood. Converting a church's under-utilized land, 48 homes will be BMR and the ground floor will be designated for retail space as an additional community benefit. More details about these homes can be found here,

I enthusiastically support bringing 302 well-designed, well-located new homes for essential workers to the Tenderloin neighborhood. These much-needed new residences are vitally important to helping alleviate San Francisco's housing shortage and affordability crisis.

Converting a church's already under-utilized land, this essential workforce housing will substantially benefit middle-income families and the community alike. Some of its many highlights include:

- 60 BMR homes.
- Close proximity to MUNI and BART.
- 153 Class 1 and Class 2 bicycle parking spots, and no vehicle parking.
- Environmentally-friendly features such as solar panels, LED lighting, and MERV 13 air filters.
- Indoor and outdoor amenity space.
- Ground floor retail space.
- Preservation of historic design elements.

San Francisco needs more homes for middle-income families and essential workers than ever before, and bringing these homes to the Tenderloin is an important step in the right direction.

Thank you very much for your consideration.
