For the past 30 years, the City of Albany has envisioned a more vibrant, pedestrian-oriented San Pablo Avenue complete with neighborhood-serving retail and affordable housing. To realize this vision, we must rezone for eight or more stories as part of the San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan!

Supporting new homes on San Pablo Ave means:

• Ensuring your favorite coffee shop or local retailer will have customers;

• Creating an inclusive community with housing for those of all incomes, including families and service providers;

• Increasing the city’s tax base, which support our public schools;

• Urging Albany to do its part in solving our region’s housing shortage, which is driving the affordability crisis;

• Supporting pedestrian safety with a more walkable corridor;

• Supporting climate goals by placing homes near shared transit options, reducing the need for car use;
