Support West Contra Costa Educators!
West Contra Costa Unified School District Superintendent and School Board Trustees
Students in West Contra Costa can't wait for the WCCUSD board to address the teacher vacancies and high turnover causing disruptions to their learning environments. WCCUSD started the year with 70 vacancies, meaning over 2,000 students and classrooms felt the effects of a district that cannot attract and retain the teachers our schools and students need. WCCUSD also relies on expensive temporary outside contractors to provide crucial special education services. Staffing these positions with trusted district employees would give our students the stable supports they need to succeed, and at a lower cost to the district. We are also fighting for more sustainable class sizes, and protections for our many international educators.
United Teachers of Richmond are united with our students and communities to address these issues, and we need your support. We are currently negotiating with our district for the improvements in working and learning conditions that will benefit our students, teachers, and schools.
By signing below, you can send a message to our district leadership that you stand with us for the safe and stable schools all WCCUSD students deserve!

To the WCCUSD Leadership,
The WCCUSD Parents, Teachers, Students, Staff and Community stand in support of the United Teachers of Richmond in their fight for safe and stable schools. We know our students will learn and thrive in schools that are staffed by trusted district educators and staff. We know our communities will thrive when our schools can be places all students are supported.
We support our educators' demands for:
-Competitive wages to attract and retain teachers and eliminate destabilizing vacancies
-Smaller classes and stronger classroom supports
-Stable schools for our students and communities.
We call on you, the Superintendent and Board of WCCUSD, to prioritize our students now, by coming to an agreement with our educators that will bring stability to our classrooms and schools. Our students can't wait!
