Support the Cricket Community Park
King County Executive and Council
King County is home to one of the fastest-growing cricket communities in the United States. Thousands of residents across our communities actively play and follow cricket. Despite this growth, the region still lacks a dedicated cricket venue to support community play, youth development, and professional competition.
The proposed Cricket Community Park presents a unique opportunity to address this need. This venue would serve as a permanent home for community cricket while also providing a future venue for the Seattle Orcas, the region’s Major League Cricket franchise. Most importantly, it would create a shared community asset that benefits residents across King County.
This project would:
• Provide dedicated cricket infrastructure for local leagues and youth programs
• Support one of the fastest-growing sports in the region
• Create economic activity through tournaments and events
• Attract regional, national, and international visitors to King County
• Provide community access to a high-quality recreational facility
• Help keep professional cricket rooted in King County
Cricket participation in King County continues to grow rapidly, with local clubs, youth programs, and community leagues expanding every year. A Cricket Community Park would serve thousands of residents and provide long-term recreational and economic benefits for the region.
We, the undersigned, express our strong support for the development of a Cricket Community Park and urge King County leadership to prioritize this project. This venue would serve the community, support local economic development, and ensure that this growing sport has the infrastructure it needs in King County.
We respectfully request that King County move forward with supporting this project.

We, the undersigned residents, community organizations, cricket clubs, and local stakeholders, express our strong support for the development of a Cricket Community Park.
King County is home to one of the fastest-growing cricket communities in the United States, with thousands of residents actively participating in leagues, youth programs, and community events across the county. Despite this growth, the region currently lacks dedicated cricket infrastructure to support community play and long-term development.
The proposed Cricket Community Park would provide a permanent home for community cricket and serve as a future venue for the Seattle Orcas, the region’s Major League Cricket franchise. Hosting professional cricket in King County would generate meaningful economic activity, attract regional, national, and international visitors, and elevate the sport's visibility locally.
This venue would support youth development, expand recreational access, enable regional tournaments, and provide a shared community asset. It would also help ensure that professional cricket and its associated economic and community benefits remain rooted in King County.
This project has broad support from local cricket clubs, community organizations, businesses, and individual residents who recognize the need for dedicated cricket infrastructure in King County.
We respectfully urge King County leadership to support and prioritize the development of a Cricket Community Park at Marymoor Park for the benefit of the community, local economy, and the continued growth of cricket in the region.
