Tell Amazon to Put Public Health Before Profits
Governor Andrew Cuomo, Attorney General Tish James
Workers in dozens of Amazon facilities have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, resulting in at least one death. Amazon workers have repeatedly voiced concern over the lack of personal protective equipment, unsanitary conditions, and limited breaks for handwashing.
At the same time, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has seen his wealth increase by $24 billion in one month. Amazon and its billionaire CEO Jeff Bezos are forcing workers to choose between their health and their economic security. No one should have to make this impossible decision.
We demand that our New York elected leaders close any Amazon facility that fails to protect public health. Workers at these facilities should receive full pay and benefits for the duration of the crisis.
This is not the moment to put private profit ahead of public health.

We call on you to close any Amazon facility that fails to protect public health during this crisis. Workers at these facilities should receive full pay and benefits for the duration of the crisis. We can't allow shameless profiteering come before the health of our communities.
