Tell Congress: Goldman Sachs Doesn't Need Another Tax Giveaway

U.S. Congress

The so-called "Paradise Papers" revealed how the mega-rich use offshore tax havens to hide roughly $10 trillion in wealth, with half of that in the hands of the wealthiest 0.001%.

The leaked documents originated inside Appleby, a huge offshore law firm with clients like Goldman Sachs. In fact, the documents show that between 2002 and 2006, Trump's chief economic advisor, Gary Cohn, was president or vice president for 22 entities in Bermuda for Goldman Sachs, and Oxfam reports that Goldman Sachs is holding about $28 billion in offshore accounts.

The millions of dollars spent by Goldman Sachs in recent years to lobby Congress have helped shape the ugly tax giveaway bill that the GOP is trying to shove down our throats.

Goldman Sachs doesn't need a tax giveaway. They need to pay their fair share.

This weekend, a group of investigative journalists released the so-called "Paradise Papers," a huge cache of documents that revealed how the mega-rich use offshore tax havens to hide roughly $10 trillion in wealth.

The leaked documents originated inside Appleby, a huge offshore law firm with clients like Goldman Sachs. The documents show that between 2002 and 2006, Trump's chief economic advisor, Gary Cohn, was president or vice president for 22 entities in Bermuda for Goldman Sachs, and Oxfam reports that Goldman Sachs is holding about $28 billion in offshore accounts.

The millions of dollars spent by Goldman Sachs in recent years to lobby Congress have helped shape the tax giveaway bill that the GOP wants to shove down our throats. But when these kinds of corporations lobby for tax giveaways, working class Americans pay the price.

No thanks. Goldman Sachs and other corporations don't need tax giveaways. They need to pay their fair share.
