Tell Congress: Pass the Federal Employee Civil Relief Act and protect federal workers from eviction during the shutdown!
Congress
As the government shutdown continues with no end in sight, hundreds of thousands of federal workers are going without pay.
Federal workers are being used as political pawns, but the government shutdown isn’t a game. There are very real consequences for those who aren’t getting paid right now: potential evictions and foreclosures, defaults on student loans, car repossession, and more.
The folks who mail our Social Security checks, protect our waterways, and make sure our food is safe to eat deserve support and protection, not eviction notices.
A bill was just introduced in the Senate that could change that. The Federal Employee Civil Relief Act would protect impacted workers from being evicted or foreclosed, having their car repossessed, losing their health insurance, falling behind on their student loan payments, or ruining their credit score. These protections would last through the shutdown and 30 days afterward.
Stand in solidarity with federal workers: Sign our petition demanding Congress protect federal workers and pass this legislation as soon as possible!

We stand in solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of federal workers currently going without pay as the government shutdown continues with no end in sight.
We are outraged that federal workers are being used as political pawns in this shutdown. There are very real consequences for those who aren’t getting paid right now: potential evictions and foreclosures, defaults on student loans, car repossession, and more.
Federal workers have given their lives to service. The workers who mail our Social Security checks, protect our waterways, and make sure our food is safe to eat deserve support and protection, not eviction notices.
That’s why we are urging you to pass The Federal Employee Civil Relief Act immediately. This legislation will protect impacted workers from being evicted or foreclosed, having their car repossessed, losing their health insurance, falling behind on their student loan payments, or ruining their credit score, and more.
It’s imperative that this bill be passed now, before federal workers are hurt any further by this government shutdown.
