Tell Congress: Stop Trump's New Attempt to Gut Social Security

President Trump is refusing to provide more coronavirus relief to struggling Americans unless Congress supports slashing Social Security with a payroll tax cut.

That’s outrageous. Social Security puts billions of dollars into the economy each year, so cutting it during a period of economic downturn is the worst course of action to take.

On May 3, 2020 on Fox News President Trump said he would block any more coronavirus relief unless Congress supports a cut in the payroll tax which funds SOCIAL SECURITY.

There will never be a good time to cut Social Security funding, but right now it would be ludicrous. Social Security puts more than $800 billion into the economy each year and we need it to get our economy back on track.

Millions of seniors rely on the benefits they’ve earned over a lifetime of work. Congress must refuse to make such a dangerous deal if they care about older Americans.
