Tell Congressman Colin Allred: Support the Green New Deal Resolution
Colin Allred, U.S. Congressman

The Green New Deal is popular with Americans--a bipartisan poll has shown that 81% of Americans support it, and 6 presidential candidates, 11 Senators and 91 House members have already signed on. In addition to heading off the worst of climate change, the Green New Deal will bring Texans workforce training for high-paying safe jobs, clean air and water, plentiful renewable energy, an end to the inequities brought about by environmental racism, and a new day for the millions affected by dangerous coal and petrochemical emissions.
Let's show Congressman Allred that we'll support him and turn out the vote for a healthier climate and better jobs with the Green New Deal
We hope that the congressman considers the futures of all Texans--their health and the ability to raise their children in a world free from the threats of climate change wildfires, hurricanes and droughts --and join with other leaders to make the tenets of the Green New Deal a reality.
The Green New Deal resolution, by far the most viable effort yet to take on climate change, is the only initiative put forward which follows the recommendations of our top scientists. And although it can't succeed as legislation until we elect a new Senate and a new President, if we can gather support for it NOW, it'll take its rightful place as the most important issue in 2020.
Please help us tell Congressman Allred to do the right thing--support the Green New Deal, and support the people of Texas who want their lives and the lives of their children and grandchildren to be safe, secure and free from the ravages of climate change.

I am signing this petition to show Congressman Allred that I'll support him and turn out the vote for a healthier climate and better jobs with if he supports the Green New Deal!
The latest climate report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which is comprised of thousands of scientists, says we have at best 12 years to transform our economy to fight back against the growing prospects of climate catastrophe by preserving the stable climate which human civilization has depended on for millennia; we can't risk the very real threat of human extinction.
The required mobilization for the Green New Deal is similar to the WWII mobilization and that of theDepression-era New Deal, both of which quickly transformed many aspects of American society. In addition to averting the worst of Climate Change, the Green New Deal would guarantee a good job to all members of our society and in so doing would create economic prosperity for all.
Eighty-one percent of Americans support the Green New Deal in addition to 6 Presidential candidates, 11 Senators and 91 House members. It’s time for our political leaders to find the courage to stand up for the people and take action on Climate Change.
