Tell DeKalb to STOP FURLOUGHING EDUCATORS

DeKalb County School District

We the undersigned value our teachers and school-based personnel. They are the first responders for our children. DeKalb County should not balance its budget off of the backs of the essential school workers. DeKalb County School District has made requests for tax increases, furloughed employees in the past and refused to pay parts of the employee retirement plan. Rescind any actions designed to furlough and/or cut pay

  • STOP AND DISCONTINUE furloughs
  • DO NOT cut salaries
  • DO NOT cut step increases
  • DO NOT lay off any workers
  • Perform a Forensic Audit

Find the money, lower the cost for the administrative layers added by the previous administration. Re-visit the budget as you are doing per Covid-19, and utilize the $33,000,000 unions fought for and you received via the CARES ACT in the areas our children and families deserve most.

Find the money. Can 7 board members comprehensively know hidden, padded or unnecessary dollars within the 1.5 BILLION dollar school budget? Help restore the tax payers confidence.
