Tell Governor Brown to Expand Renewable Energy to all Californians!

Governor Jerry Brown

The renewable energy revolution is on the rise in California with a significant increase in our use of solar power and other renewable energy. However, most low-income communities and communities of color are renters, and don’t have access to clean energy and are excluded from this renewable energy revolution.

To achieve energy equity, we need to put renewable energy right where it’s needed the most--on tenants’ rooftops. AB 693, the Multifamily Affordable Housing Renewable Energy Program, does just this. The bill is just waiting for the Governor’s signature now.
However, Governor Brown is hesitant about signing this bill, and if we want to ensure that nearly 210,000 low-income renters across the state can access solar energy, we need to take action now.

Your voice matters in the struggle to build a future where all people can realize their right to a healthy environment. Sign this petition to tell Governor Brown to sign AB 693, the Multifamily Affordable Housing Renewable Energy Program.

As a Californian concerned about climate change and access to renewable energy, I urge you to sign AB 693 (Eggman) into law.

The portion of the ratepayer credit funds used by this program is a small price to pay for the enormous benefits that AB 693 would provide.

AB 693 will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2-3 million metric tons over the course of the program.
