Tell New York's Leaders We Need to Tax the Rich, Save Our State, and Fund Our Future!

Governor Andrew Cuomo, NYS Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, NYS Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, and the Members of the New York State Legislature

We are calling on Governor Cuomo, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, and the New York State Legislature to Tax the Rich!

Our neighbors are dying, our hospitals are crumbling, and the MTA is on the verge of collapse. COVID-19 has ravaged our state and our government is threatening to cut the services we rely on.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

During the pandemic, New York's rich have gotten even richer – while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet. New Yorkers need an economic recovery that helps working people. We are calling on Governor Cuomo and the State Legislature  to raise taxes on the rich so we can:

  • Fund our schools, hospitals, and subways

  • Provide free universal healthcare to everyone in New York

  • Create millions of green jobs through a Green New Deal

  • Save millions of tenants from eviction in a pandemic

Sign on to this petition and receive information on how to call your legislators and tell them that we cannot afford cuts to our subways, schools, and hospitals. We demand a budget that taxes the rich!

Dear Governor Cuomo, Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Speaker Carl Heastie,

We are writing to express my urgent belief that New York State must respond to the crisis by raising taxes on the rich by $50 Billion. In order for our State to thrive and for the vital services New Yorkers depend on like hospitals, transportation, schools, and rental assistance, we need an end to austerity. We call on you to show leadership on this vital issue and get behind the demand to generate $50 Billion in new revenue in the next budget.

Thank you for your attention to this vital issue.
