Tell Piedmont Athens Regional: Facilities Workers Want a Fair Contract NOW!

Michael Burnett, CEO, Piedmont Athens Regional and Kevin Brown, CEO, Piedmont Healthcare

On August 23, maintenance workers at Piedmont Hospital voted to unionize with IUOE Local 926 in response to unsafe working conditions, a lack of leadership accountability, and inadequate wages and benefits. Since then, Piedmont has retaliated against workers for exercising their right to organize, leading us to file five Unfair Labor Practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board.

As we continue contract negotiations, the retaliation has only intensified. We need you to show your support for our union by telling CEO of Piedmont Athens Regional, Michael Burnett, that Piedmont maintenance workers deserve a fair contract now!

Dear Michael Burnett,

I am writing to support Piedmont Maintenance Staff's decision to form a union with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 926. I am also writing to urge you to negotiate in good faith with the union as is required by federal labor law.

I am concerned about Piedmont's routine failure to abide by fair labor principles. You must ensure you are respecting the right of your maintenance workers to organize. I trust that you will negotiate a contract that is fair and reflective of the hard work of the Piedmont Maintenance staff.

It is time Piedmont Athens Maintenance Staff receive a fair contract.
