Raise Your Voice: Demand a Open Town Hall in TX-12

Rep. Kay Granger, Congresswoman for the Texas 12th Congressional District

According to the Town Hall Project, 162 members of Congress have not held a single in-person town hall since January 1, 2017.

Rep. Kay Granger is one of them.

Sign the petition now to let her know that we are going to hold her accountable!

This is not acceptable.  We demand a public audience with Rep. Kay Granger during the upcoming recess.

We call for the town hall to be civil and that even if people disagree, please disagree without being disagreeable.

Criteria For A Town Hall:

1. Event is Free

2. Event is Open To The Public

3. Rep Granger must take open questions.

4. Rep. Granger must appear in person.

5. Rep. Granger must stay for the entire event.

Town halls are a longstanding American tradition--where our elected representatives must listen and respond to the concerns of their constituents. Remember: You are their boss.

So sign and share to show Rep. Kay Granger that this is what her constituents want.

We are concerned citizens and allies of the 12th Congressional District.

Since January 1, 2017, 162 members of Congress have not held Town Halls in thier Districts. We were disappointed to see that you, our elected representative, were one of them.

It is simply unacceptable that you refuse to hold or organize a true Town Hall for all your constituents to attend.

We are now formally request that you work with us to hold a town hall where we can have a civil, open forum for your constituents to ask questions and express concerns. We ask that the town hall be free, open to the public, that you take open questions, that you attend in person, and that you stay for the entire duration of the event.

As our elected representative, you work for us. We need you to hold this town hall so we can express in a public forum our views and hear yours.

If you do not hold a town hall, we will take further action to drive attention to failure to fulfill your obligations as our Representative.

We hope we can work together as a community to resolve this issue and to maintain a dialogue that is productive and for the improvement of the 12th Congressional District.

Thank you.
