Tell the EPA to stand with Americans, not fossil fuel polluters!

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt

Trump’s EPA administrator – fossil fuel puppet Scott Pruitt – just proposed a dangerous order that would pause critical regulations on methane leaks and other pollution from oil and gas wells.

Stalling critical standards to protect our climate and our health from oil and gas industry pollution is dangerous, especially for children – the EPA admitted it.[1]

Make no mistake: the only people benefitting from a freeze on EPA methane standards are corporate polluters and their allies. The head of the EPA is supposed to represent the best interests of the American people, not the worst actors in the oil and gas industry.

Scott Pruitt knows he’s putting our climate and our families in danger. Fight back and submit a public comment today to make it clear: it’s unacceptable for the EPA to side with polluters over Americans.

[1] The official notice from the EPA acknowledged the adverse health impacts of their proposed order. Here's one line from the notice: "EPA believes that the environmental health or safety risk addressed by this action may have a disproportionate effect on children." More info here.

I strongly oppose the EPA’s proposal to delay the implementation of critical methane pollution standards. The EPA should be leading efforts to protect our planet and our health, not rolling back important regulations on oil and gas industry pollution.

The EPA’s mission is to protect human health and the environment -- not corporate polluters’ profits. It is especially indefensible that the EPA would propose this order when the agency has even admitted that “the environmental health or safety risk addressed by this action may have a disproportionate effect on children.”

It is EPA’s obligation to protect all Americans from harmful pollution like methane. This attempt to dismantle standards that protect us from oil and a gas industry pollution is nothing less than a direct assault on our health and environment. EPA stands for Environmental Protection Agency, not Environmental Pollution Agency. Please fulfill your mission and keep this important methane rule in place.
