Tell The Jersey Journal: it’s editorial staff deserves fair wages!

The Jersey Journal

Members of The Jersey Journal Guild, a small staff, have provided non-stop, critical news to Hudson County throughout the entire pandemic, never missing a single day of regular coverage.

Our loyalty and commitment to the success of The Jersey Journal is undeniable. However, after nearly a year in contract negotiations, management has yet to agree on decent wage increases to support the basic needs of the editorial staff during what continues to be a straining economic period.

Our wages have only increased 4% in the last 10+ years. Management has offered minimal increases that do not even match today’s inflation rate. The most senior employees would see the smallest increases under management’s proposal.

We deserve to afford to live in the cities we report on. We deserve salaries that both account for today’s sky-high inflation and our lack of salary growth over the past 10 years.
