As the Montana State Legislature convenes for the 67th Legislative Session, we urge all lawmakers to stand with public education and oppose the privatization of our neighborhood schools. Public education is the cornerstone of every Montana community and every child is entitled to a thriving public school. Diverting public money to private for-profit institutions starves public schools of vital resources.

We, like most Montanans, firmly believe public funds belong in public schools, which are open to all children, governed by a locally elected school board, and accountable to the Board of Public Education.​ We oppose any legislation which seeks to undermine our public schools and every Montanan's Constitutionally-guaranteed right to equality of education.

As the Legislative Session continues over the next four months, we hope that you will fight against any efforts to privatize the most important civic institution in the country.
