Tell the University of California: Stop Sending Good University Jobs Overseas

The University of California Board of Regents

The University of California wants to lay off 79 Information Technology workers at the San Francisco campus starting this month. IT workers at other campuses are next in line. UC even is demanding that employees train their own replacements, who are lower-paid workers from an Indian outsourcing firm.

Sign the petition. Tell the UC Regents to reverse its decision. Good-paying, taxpayer-funded jobs should stay at the University of California and not be sent overseas.

The University of California’s plan to send good-paying, tax-payer funded University jobs overseas must be reversed immediately. There is simply no good reason to replace highly trained university IT employees with lower-paid workers in India and other countries. I call on you to stop the University’s offshoring of taxpayer-funded jobs.
