Tell Washington: Fill Every Judicial Vacancy!
The White House and Senate
At the National Association of Consumer Advocates, we are committed to promoting and pursuing justice for consumers. However, our efforts are impeded by a federal judiciary that both lacks the professional diversity necessary to ensure fairness for all and is slowed by too many vacant seats.
With dozens of vacancies, and less than nine months until the end of the 118th congress, we have a limited (but powerful) opportunity to advocate for a judiciary that understands and respects consumers and consumer protection laws.

We are calling on the White House and Senate to take immediate action to nominate and confirm judicial nominees. Now is the time to fill vacant seats with judges who understand the importance of consumer rights and are committed to economic justice. It is imperative that we fill all judicial vacancies to ensure a functioning and fair justice system for all Americans.
A robust and complete judicial branch is necessary for upholding the rule of law, resolving disputes fairly, and safeguarding the rights of all of us. The nominees already chosen by President Biden have undergone a rigorous vetting process and have the qualifications, experience, and commitment to fairness to serve on the bench. Each nominee deserves a timely and fair vote on their merits.
We have a narrowing window in 2024 before the end of the 118th Congress to fill every seat with judges committed to equal justice. Therefore, we strongly encourage the White House to nominate individuals who have a background in economic justice and understanding of consumer protections. We strongly urge the Senate to vote on all pending judicial nominees without further delay and do whatever is within their power to advocate for additional nominees to move to the floor for a full Senate vote.
