With the 2024 Virginia Legislative Session drawing to a close, it is important that we thank those legislators who repeatedly went to bat for pro-housing bills since the session's start! You can find a list of pro-housing bill sponsors here.

To avoid flooding our champions' inboxes with repeated messages, we are instead asking pro-housing supporters to:

I want to send a note of thanks for your hard work advancing solutions to Virginia’s housing shortage during this legislative session. We know that the lack of affordable housing, especially diverse housing types near jobs and opportunity centers, is harming Virginia at every stage of life and every income level. Some of the best solutions we have to this issue come at the state level. Thank you for supporting the common sense solutions and championing housing supply bills this year.

For the next year, stakeholders will take a look at the arbitrary rules that are holding back affordable housing production. We look forward to standing with you in the 2025 legislative session, and to a day when more homes are built near jobs and business; when more families can add accessory dwellings on their land; when we have a building code that supports more family-sized apartment buildings; and when churches have the streamlined zoning process they need to build affordable housing on their property.
