Thank you, SF Board of Supervisors, for closing the HCSO loophole!
San Francisco Board of Supervisors

On Tuesday, June 15, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously 10-0 to extend the Health Care Security Ordinance (HSCO) legislation to telecommuters at SF businesses. This means that USF employees with non-San Francisco addresses should begin to once again receive SF City Options benefits later this July, even when telecommuting.

Dear San Francisco Board of Supervisors,
The leadership, membership, and supporters of the University of San Francisco Part-time Faculty Association would like to express our sincere thanks for your unanimous vote to pass the administrative code amendment restoring our San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance contributions while we are teleworking during the pandemic.
As you know, COVID-19 has taken a tremendous toll on the San Francisco community. Many of us have struggled to meet basic needs as working conditions have changed drastically, jobs have disappeared, and resources have become scarce. The unthinkable proposition of losing health care subsidies during the pandemic became a reality for many of us when we began to work from home.
We appreciate your passing the amendment, as it restores these funds to those who need them, encourages remote work as long as safety makes it necessary, and sends a clear message that the health and well-being of workers is an important priority in San Francisco.
With Gratitude,
University of San Francisco Part-time Faculty Association
