THE CYBER SECURITY AND CYBER CRIMES BILL PETITION

GOVERNMENT AND PARLIAMENT

This petition defends our constitutional rights to free speech, privacy, and communication. The 2025 Cyber Laws threaten these freedoms, while the 2021 Act effectively protected them. We call for a return to the 2021 law to ensure our digital rights are respected.

THE CYBER SECURITY AND CYBER CRIMES BILL PETITION.

This petitions aims at urging the UPND government to completely do away with the entire Cyber laws of 2025 and revert back to the 2021 Cyber security and Cyber crimes Act.
This petition is born from the fact that the Cyber law of 2021 despite the apprehension it attracted has been accepted by the citizens and has proved sufficient to address the threats to the cyber space while the 2025 laws have introduced clauses that are completely in contravention of the constitution. The freedom of speech, the freedom to communicate the right to privacy are the very fabric of human existence and so any law that threatens citizens' enjoyments of these freedoms must never be entertained.

By signing this petition we the citizens are simply saying not to the entire amendments made to the 2021 law and asking government therefore to revert to the old law.
