The Teddy Bear Pledge
Mitch Mcconnell, The United States Senate
Since the Columbine Massacre in 1999, over 228,000 kids (and their families) have experienced the horror of a school shooting. (Washington Post https://wapo.st/2l9vkkm)
America, we have a gun violence EPIDEMIC.
It needs to be addressed URGENTLY.
The time to take action is NOW.
The Teddy Bear Campaign is a social empowerment campaign (produced by The Firestarter Nation). We are an independent artist led movement giving people that are fed up with gun violence an inspiring way to act beyond “thoughts and prayers.”
Our mission is to reveal to congress (and the world) the magnitude of America's Gun Violence epidemic by displaying 7,782 Teddy Bears at the US Capital. Each bear represents the number of kids shot and killed by guns every year). We offer this act to as a display and to honor the life of every kid lost to gun violence in this country.
Sign this petition supporting S.42 (Senate Bill Supporting UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS.) and we'll deliver it when we bring the teddy bears. Let's let Congress know that "WE WILL NOT BEAR ANOTHER LIFE LOST".
