These toys are recording your children and sending what they say to a defense contractor

Federal Trade Commission

Two new "smart" toys on the shelves this holiday season are designed to record what children say while playing with them and then send that information to the servers of Nuance Communications, a defense contractor that sells “voice biometric solutions” to military and intelligence agencies.

The toys, pictured above, are the My Friend Cayla doll and the i-Que Intelligent Robot. They are made by a company called Genesis Toys.

This is a creepy invasion of the privacy of young children, and it can not be allowed to stand.

Sign our petition to the Federal Trade Commission: "Genesis Toys and Nuance Communications are violating laws that protect childrens' privacy. Order these deceptive surveillance toys to be pulled from store shelves before more parents buy them and have their childrens' privacy invaded."
