California Caregivers need a $25 wage floor.

Let’s tell California employers and elected leaders to establish a living wage for these heroes!

Time for $25

Caregivers need your help.

Across California, long-term care providers have been on the frontlines of the pandemic. They’re working long hours, caring for our loved ones. They worked heroically with little or no PPE at the beginning of the pandemic, fighting to save lives, comfort patients and families, and do their best to stop the spread of COVID-19.

And we aren’t treating them like the essential workers they are.

We’re calling on California employers and elected leaders to put an end to the low wages and the disrespect caregivers face by implementing a $25 living wage for California caregivers.

There’s a crisis in our communities—a shortage of caregivers that’s only getting worse.

This wage increase will help caregivers—mostly women of color—care for themselves and their families without fighting to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table.

Throughout the past year, caregivers in California have gone above and beyond caring for our loved ones, sacrificing their time and health, and battling COVID outbreaks across the state. Even though they are essential workers, caregivers (who are predominantly women of color) aren’t being treated with the respect they deserve. It’s time to change that.

We’re standing with SEIU 2015 to call on California leadership to establish a $25 minimum wage for caregivers. Our caregivers are too often working long hours on top of caring for themselves and their families, and they aren’t even receiving living wages.

A $25 minimum wage would help uplift our California caregivers, show them the respect they deserve, and help boost our California economy.
