Immediately make clear the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's intended policy on the prosecution of abortion

In the wake of the monumental Supreme Court decision Dobbs v. Jackson, which removed the Constitutional right to abortion, the Indiana General Assembly passed Senate Bill 1 in a special legislative session called by state leaders. This law bans nearly all abortions in the state of Indiana with limited exceptions for instances of rape and incest, fatal fetal anomalies, or if the mother’s life is in danger.

Pat Harrington, our Tippecanoe County Prosecutor, has the power to decide whether or not he and his office will enforce Senate Bill 1. As his constituents, a majority of whom hold strong opinions on this issue, the people of Tippecanoe County deserve to know if Mr. Harrington will prosecute those accused of violating this law in our community.

We, the citizens of Tippecanoe County, demand Pat Harrington publicly declare where he stands on prosecuting those under his jurisdiction for seeking or providing abortion services.
