TN Gov Bill Lee - Stop The Execution of Lee Hall Jr.

TN Gov. Bill Lee

Open-uri20190816-15642-1howgym

Tennessee has set an execution date of December 5 for Lee (aka Leroy) Hall, Jr, who was convicted in the 1991 murder of Traci Crozier.

While the vast majority of states with capital punishment continue on a downward trend of executions, Tennessee has picked up its pace the last year. If the execution of Lee Hall, Jr. is carried out, this will be the state’s 6th execution in less than 15 months, following a ten-year hiatus. Tennessee's execution schedule goes against the national trend as more states are abandoning the death penalty in law or practice, whereas Tennessee is now only 1 of about 8 states that actively uses the death penalty.

We, the undersigned, ask that you do everything within your power to stop this execution, including issuing a stay, and seeking a path to clemency in the case.

We are writing to ask that you stay the execution date of December 5 for Lee Hall, Jr., who was convicted in the 1991 murder of Traci Crozier.

We are concerned that while the vast majority of states with capital punishment continue on a downward trend of executions, Tennessee has picked up its pace in recent years. If the execution of Hall is carried out, this will be the state’s 6th execution in less than 15 months.
