Trump's Kiddie Koncentration Kamps are an abomination, DHS Sec. Kirstjen Nielsen must resign

Kirstjen Nielsen

Donald Trump's Kiddie Concentration Camps are an abomination. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, responsible for implementing and defending this violation of basic human rights, must resign.

Watch this video of children wailing in a detention facility and then being mocked by Trump's border control agents -- then sign the petition on this page demanding that Nielsen resign.

As you know, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced last month a new policy by which Donald Trump would tear immigrant families apart at the border, taking children away from their parents and sending them to kiddie concentration camps, similar to how the US imprisoned Japanese-Americans in the 1940s.

Trump has already incarcerated nearly 2,000 children, 100 of whom are under four years of age, some in just diapers. The children are without their families, are forbidden to have physical contact with any human beings outside of their metal cages, and in some cases, the kids are being kept in these kiddie prisons while their parents are deported back home.

And Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is in charge of the entire thing. But that's not the worst part. Neilsen had the gall to yesterday to deny that the US was separating families from their kids at all.

Then, once journalists were permitted to visit these prison camps, so Nielsen could no longer deny it -- and Trump White House adviser Stephen Miller admitted it was his idea -- the Homeland Security secretary claimed, incredibly, that many of the kids were faking it, that they were crisis actors, of sorts, who were accompanies by fake families.

US Senate Kamala Harris has just called on Secretary Nielsen to resign, and she should:

Kirstjen Nielsen is a disaster, and this latest Kiddie Concentration Camp fiasco is the last straw. It's time to stand up for the kids. Sign the petition below and add your name to those calling on Kirstjen Nielsen to resign.

Children belong with their families, not in prison camps. It's time for you to resign.
