Urge Chicopee City Council to have Public Listening Sessions for FY21 Budget

Chicopee City Council

Cities across Western Massachusetts are engaging in discussion around the FY21 Budget. Northampton, Westfield, and Greenfield are some neighboring cities that have engaged in live public comment/ listening sessions at their City Council meetings, via teleconference (Zoom, Meet, Webex etc.). Our City Council has NOT allowed for such public comment, unless it's submitted prior to the meeting via email and are simply attached to the minutes (not actually brought up in the meeting). This does not allow for the community as a whole to voice their comments or concerns, and when asked when public comment will be available, there has been no concrete answer. So many other cities have been able to engage the community for input, why hasn't Chicopee?

Access to our government is vital to a health democracy, especially in these momentous times.

Please sign this petition and let our City Council know that we want our voices heard!
