We believe the holidays are a special time of year. However Walmart's policy eliminating holiday pay in 2016 sends a strong message that there is nothing special about the holidays when it comes to how Walmart treats and pays its workers.

If Walmart is going to remain open on most major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years then it should bring back holiday pay so workers are fairly compensated for all that they give up to make the holidays happen.

Many UFCW-represented workers are paid every holiday, whether they work the day or not. And some members who work on a holiday receive holiday premium such as pay plus time and a half. Even retailers like Target and Macy's offer some type of holiday or premium pay for working on holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. It is time for the country’s largest employer to do the same for its employees.

We are telling Walmart CEO Doug McMillon to honor all that Walmart workers sacrifice in order to make the holidays happen and bring back the holiday pay they have earned.

By signing this petition, you are standing up for over 1.5 million Walmart store workers who deserve fair compensation for giving up their holidays, so that we can enjoy ours.
