Warm Homes for Oxfordshire!

The Prime Minister and The Minister for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

In the face of massive energy price rises the Government has announced some financial support to help with energy bills. But for many people bills will remain high because their homes waste energy and are hard to heat. The lasting solution is to invest in energy saving and home insulation that will save money and help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.  This winter we also need to make sure that the support that is available is well-targeted at those who most need help to pay their bills.

All over Oxfordshire soaring gas prices and heat-leaking homes mean too many of us are struggling to keep warm and pay our bills.
Our energy system has failed us. But we know there are ways to fix it.

We – people and communities in Oxfordshire – call on our government to act to deliver real solutions to the problems we face. We need:

• A national emergency programme to insulate our homes and other buildings
• Urgent additional financial support to keep people warm this winter
• A transformed energy system that works for people and the planet

We are calling for warm homes that don’t cost the earth.
