Washington Go 100% Petition

Senator Hunt

WashPIRG is a student-directed and student-funded organization that’s been here at Evergreen since the 1980s. We work to protect the environment, promote civic engagement, and provide hunger relief.

Right now we’re working to tackle climate change by transitioning our state to 100% clean and renewable energy.

The state legislature is actually considering a bill that would commit Washington to 100% clean energy. Sign the petition to show our State Senator Sam Hunt that Greeners support 100% clean energy.

In addition to signing the petition, the best way to help this campaign and our other projects to ban single-use plastic and help hungry people in need is to vote to keep WashPIRG on campus here at Evergreen. We’re effective because we’re funded through an $8 per quarter fee that allows us to hire professional staff. Our staff work full time here on campus and help us run campaigns. Every 2 years we ask the student body to reaffirm their support for the our program so we can keep fighting for students and to protect the environment. Check the box to show to pledge to vote yes for WashPIRG and we’ll remind you when we’re on the ballot in Week 8.

I urge you to support the 100% Clean Electricity bill.

We can provide a better future for our children, but we need to change the way we produce energy and transition to clean energy rapidly. I support a 100% clean bill that has a quick timeline to remove all fossil fuels from our grid, and has strong interim targets including no coal on the grid by 2025 and an 80% clean requirement by 2030.
