We need to plan a greener future for Bradford

City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council

The Coronavirus crisis has changed everything.

It has reminded us who and what really matters in our lives. It has clearly shown the weaknesses of an economy which has worked for a small minority for too long.

We cannot go back to where we were before. 'Business as usual' didn’t work for too many people and was destroying the natural world on which we all depend.

But, this crisis has shown us that big change in a short space of time is possible. It is possible to rethink how we do things here in Bradford.

The coronavirus crisis has shown us that big change in a short space of time is possible.

It is possible to rethink how we do things here in Bradford

We need to:

1) Support Local businesses to be successful and sustainable.
2) Provide safe and affordable houses in the places were we really need them.
3) Continue to build stronger communities across our city.
4) Ensure we have safer streets.
5) Protect our countryside and green spaces.
6) Promote clean, safe, accessible public transport and more walking and cycling.
7) Reduce waste and encourage recycling and reusing.
8) Oppose the unnecessary expansion at Leeds Bradford Airport.
9) Tackle our air pollution crisis.
