We Own It & Partnership for Southern Equity's are hosting a Organizing and Digital Tools Training on Wednesday & Thursday May 10-11 from 9:30am-6:30pm in Atlanta, Georgia.

What: Your electric co-op/EMC could be a powerful, member-owned asset for building local wealth and opportunity.  Join us for this 2-day training to meet other member-owners and Atlanta metro residents working for engagement and reform, and learn the principles of grassroots and online organizing to achieve change.

  • Day 1 includes:  Engagement organizing basics: Story of Self, One-on-ones, & Power Mapping, Organizing in a Southern Context, and an Intro to Strategy, Tactics & Theory of Change.
  • Day 2 includes: Action Network (a digital organizing tool for petitions, email, events & more), Email workshop & Facebook.

Training Leaders: Nationally-renowned digital strategist, Beth Becker of Becker Digital Strategies & Dwayne Patterson, an experienced organizer and Director of Regional Organizing and Civic Engagement at the Partnership for Southern Equity.

Hosts: We Own It the national network for cooperative member-owner rights, education and organizing and Partnership for Southern Equity, which promotes equity and shared prosperity in metropolitan Atlanta.

Who: Anyone interested in honing their digital organizing skills, although there will be a focus on energy equity and more specifically organizing electric co-op/EMC members. The principles apply to any kind of organizing, and all are welcome.
