Join our friendly bunch of walkers for a morning walk to explore the landscape of the High Weald.

Geoffrey has been leading fascinating walks with us for four years and we have enjoyed his incredible knowledge of the Sussex landscape, his stories of past communities and some notable residents too! So many glorious Sussex gems still to discover.

Explore the High Weald in summer – a medieval landscape of wooded, rolling hills studded with sandstone outcrops, small irregular shaped fields, scattered farmsteads and ancient routeways. With some heavy land and some road walking, this could be a longer walk and at least 3 hours.

We usually take a short break part way, often to enjoy a particularly stunning view, to rest and have a snack and a chat.

Please note: this walk is likely to be at least 3 hours in length, over variable terrain and Geoffrey's walks are not gentle ambles. To enjoy the walks to the full, you'll be able to sustain a reasonable pace, often over uneven ground (sometimes negotiating stiles), and be comfortable walking up and down slopes and hills. The ground can be muddy and slippery too. You'll be firm on your feet and able to walk for up to 3 hours. Sturdy shoes/boots suitable for walking over varying ground conditions are essential.
