Celebrate 10 Years with Us!

Join us at our 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 20th, 2024 at Governors Island*, NYC to spotlight the achievements of our phenomenal GLT members and powerful network.

As we approach such an important milestone, I am overjoyed to personally extend an invitation that holds immense significance for all of us at Green Leadership Trust - our 10th Anniversary Gala, a celebration of our decade-long commitment to advancing Global Majority leadership on environmental Boards.

For 10 years, Green Leadership Trust has been at the forefront of fostering equity and justice in the environmental movement. From national Board-level advocacy with the Dakota Access Pipeline, BlackLivesMatter, DREAMers organizing, and rebuilding Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria’s devastation to our Corbin-Mark Vanguard Fellowship program, GLT has made incredible progress in advancing a more representative and effective environmental movement.

Our 10th Anniversary -- scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024 at Arts Center at Governors Island (110 Andes Rd) -- is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our members, partners, and supporters who have been instrumental in our journey.

This milestone provides us with a unique opportunity to reflect on our achievements and set the stage for an even more impactful future. The gala will be an evening of celebration, inspiration, and unity.

Exciting Highlights:

  • Inspirational Guest Speakers: Gain insights into GLT’s evolution and critical role in the environmental movement.

  • Storytelling: Join us as we elevate the stories of our members and their impact on the environmental and climate (justice) movements..

  • Networking and Collaboration: Connect with GLT co-founders, organizational supporters, climate justice youth leaders, policymakers, funders, and who share a common commitment to building vibrant and inclusive communities.

As we embark on the next chapter of GLT's journey, we envision a future where Boards are synonymous with equity and access to leadership roles for our Global Majority communities. We hope we can count on you to join us in celebrating a decade of empowering Environmentalists of color and shaping the future of Board leadership.

Paggank (“Nut Island”) now known as Governors Island* is located on the unceded land of the Lenape people. Native Americans of the Manhattan region named Paggank for its plentiful hickory, oak, and chestnut trees.
