This innovative hybrid 'think tank' style symposium will take place online on April 20-21, 2024.

The mission of the symposium is to lay the foundation for diverse Deaf leadership in the design of legal regulations for Automated Interpreting by Artificial Intelligence (AIxAI).

Online participants will observe and provide input to a dynamic dialogue among a select group of experts about the science, ethics and desired social outcomes of using artificial intelligence (AI) as 'interpreters' for human communication. The conversation will evolve among Keynoters, Roundtable Panelists, and entrepreneurs giving Demonstrations of sign language related AI technologies.

CEUs are available for online participants.

We are providing a few in-person spots for local people to attend as participants and for students of Brown University. Our intention is to reduce the carbon footprint of travel while ensuring high-quality collaborative dialogue. If you are local and want to register for in-person participation, please return to the Symposium website and select IN-PERSON Registration.

The following communication access will be available: ASL-English interpreters, Spanish interpreters, and CART. For more information or to request accommodations, contact us at info@deaf-futures.com.
