Every year draws us deeper into climate crisis, and every year draws us closer to our bold climate-conscious future. What happens next is in our hands.

At the Surge Sessions 2022, we'll be hearing from some of the vanguards of our climate-conscious future, the people working to build new solutions and fresh ways of being with the world.

Harold Singletary, President and Founder of Brightma Farms, a leader in the developing world of industrial hemp (a climate solution in building and farming) and a developer of circular economy opportunities for minority farmers.

Keith Bowers, President and Founder of Biohabitats, pioneer in the practice of nature-based design, green infrastructure, and regenerative design within the landscape architecture community.

Rebecca Fanning, Founder of Community Hydrology to foster land stewards for waterbodies in support of all the living things whose lives depend on it.

Merrie Koester, science educator, researcher and artist, centering the teaching of science through the arts as way to meaningfully engage and empower all learners.

Joshua Robinson, Founder and principal engineer of Robinson Design Engineers, local leader of nature-based solutions to water management issues.agement

We’re delighted to host these bright lights for an evening of lessons and talks this Friday December 9th at 7pm at the American Theater downtown. We’re also debuting Surge Magazine Issue 3, full of great articles, art, and poetry!

Doors open at 6:30pm, event begins at 7.

The Lowcountry, with so much to lose from rising tides and worsening storms, is also a developing hub for climate action. Come learn from some of the best climate minds in the South at Surge Sessions '22!
