Biography

Born in London in 1969. I grew up in Monmouth and Bristol. Married to Emma, two grown up sons Mack and Manfred. In 2009 I set up a company supplying furniture for commercial interiors. We are regarded as an ethical company championing a radical and sustainable approach to furnishing offices. The business is a member of Business Declares. I am passionate about social justice and regard capatalism in the twenty first century as a failure to all but the global rich. I am aware of my own privilege and use that position to challenge decision makers. We live in Jordans, Buckinghamshire. I also do fun stuff.

Experience of delivering change

Professionally, my business challenges our clients to change how they furnish their offices that contribute to about 30% of their lifetime embodied carbon. I am a vocal advocate for legislative change that supports circularity. I am a member of The Sustainability Design Collective, a think tank of design professionals that advocates and pressurises our industry into meaning change and decarbonisation. I don't think we do enough so volunteer at Business Declares and support their goal to accelerate change beyond my immediate network. More locally, I am a trustee of the Jordans Village Hall Trust that will provide a community building in the spirit of the villages Quaker founders.

Why am I standing?

It's time to put my passion into greater action. I have climbed a metaphorical mountain and the second peak needs tackling. I am fearful my children's' future and believe that I have the credentials to be an authentic spokesman for the Green Party. In addition to the The Green Party's stance on planetary crisis I am supporter of the economic work of Molly Scott Cato. The disparity in opportunity and wealth within Buckinghamshire is extraordinary and I would look to give a voice to those most vulnerable. Want to hold accountable those that pollute our local waterways in pursuit of HS2 profit and who dismiss active travel initiatives in favour of car centric policy. I would do my best to fill in the potholes!

How I will campaign

I will look to my Chiltern Green Party colleague's experience and expertise for support. We will campaign locally, doorstepping and speaking at hustings. I will use our media contacts to broaden our message and communicate with a greater audience. I will use the Green Party's support, building on my knowledge gained at the Green Party conference.

Skills

I have run my own business for the past 15 years dealing with client engagement, marketing and business planning. I regularly present to clients and have spoken at international conferences. A I'm intelligent, curious and have the passion and skills to delivery persuasive arguments with empathy and good humour.
