Alexander Sallons joined in 2015 and is in the Brighton & Hove Green Party
Hello! My name is Alexander, I’ve been a member here in Brighton and Hove since 2015, I’ve worked to support our excellent MP Caroline Lucas since then, our brilliant Councillors who have worked incredibly hard in the most challenging of times, and now our new MP candidate Sian.
I personally successfully campaigned for our party’s policy to be for a £15 Minimum wage, which passed at our conference in Harrogate in 2022, and I’m proud that will form a core of our party’s policy going into this election.
I’m standing so GPRC is focussed on retaining our Green MP in Brighton Pavilion, our party’s top priority has to be securing Caroline’s legacy and keeping our Green MP.
I want to make sure that the Green Party is on the strongest possible footing for this General Election, responds to the crises that will arise, and has the most democratic response to the result.
I want to work to develop bleeding edge policy to keep the Green Party relevant, true to our Leftwing Core and that meets the challenge of the Climate Crisis.
I’ve been campaigning for the Green Party, internally and electorally, for 10 years now, to re-elect our MP, Caroline Lucas, as well as supporting campaigns across the South East, I’ve canvassed and delivered in Hastings, Oxford, Reading and Brighton and Hove. I’m fully committed to our party.
I’ve served on the Brighton and Hove Green Party Executive for 3 years, preparing for the 2024 General Election to keep Brighton Green.
I’ve worked with members of the Regional Council in many internal policy matters and wish to do so on GPRC, to make sure we have the best possible performance in this General Election.
I’ll work with GPRC to support your election campaigns, to support your Cllrs in Opposition and Administration. I’ll work to represent you in the national party, and make sure that your voice is heard on the Regional Council.
I’ll make sure that the party elects Sian Berry, and delivers Caroline Lucas’ legacy in Brighton Pavilion.
The first one is electing Sian Berry in Brighton Pavilion! I stood here in our City Council Elections in 2023, it was a really tough time, but we’re ready for the fight Labour will be bringing to us, we need to be singularly focussed on electing more Green MPs!
After that we need to focus on building power, drawing up our electoral strategy for the next General Election, work on challenging the incoming Labour Government, and supporting our Cllrs across the SE and the wider country.
I will listen to you, the South East Membership, my email’s will always be open, I’ll work to embody the Green Party value of democracy.
