At our national convention last year, the DSA passed a resolution to create a new Trans Rights and Bodily Autonomy campaign, focused on fighting the right wing's assault on LGBTQI+ and abortion rights, and on developing those rights further. This Trans Day of Visibility (March 31), we are nationally coordinating solidarity actions in many chapters across the country, actions such as clothing swaps, rallies, demonstrations, marches, mutual aid resource/skill-shares, film viewings, etc., renaming this day "Trans Day of Action".

In Baltimore, the GBDSA is hosting a clothing swap and tabling event, inviting partner organizations fighting for LGBTQI+, abortion, and other bodily autonomy rights, in healthcare and elsewhere in society, to share resources with the community in attendance. From there, we will build and maintain a campaign to demand improvements on these fronts, such as supporting passage of sanctuary state, health insurance coverage expansion, incarcerated trans rights, and stronger abortion protection legislation and other forms of policy. We also plan to develop more organizational partnerships to strengthen a network that is consciously resisting and working to defeat the far right and their "moderate" allies.

We hope that this network can then reach beyond Maryland, a comparatively safe state as far as LGBTQI+ and reproduction freedoms go (though there are certainly areas we can work on!), in order to assist our national movement against our oppressors, to provide power when possible to our comrades in states where the right has greater momentum and has succeeded in doing more harm.

Join us in our struggle for a just world for LGBTQI+ people, trans children above all, and for everyone to have the right to decide what happens to their bodies!
