Indivisible KC Presents - Kansas Week of March 27 Menu
What a week! Hearings in the Senate for Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch began. FBI Director James Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee, and the disastrous Republican replacement for the Affordable Care Act was defeated.
We want every single one of you who called, wrote, or visited the office of your Representative to know what a difference you made. Across the nation, members of Congress reported calls averaging 50 to 1 against the AHCA. Never doubt that you did this -- one call, one email at a time, you saved 24 million people from losing their health insurance.
But we have to keep up the pressure now. Here's what we have going on this week:
As always, Resist Trump Tuesday! In light of Comey's testimony and Committee Chairman Nunes' subsequent actions, we're putting the pressure on our members of Congress to demand an independent investigation into any connections between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and to insist that our Senators cannot confirm a Supreme Court nominee while the President himself is under FBI investigation.
We'll be visiting the offices of Senator Moran, Senator Roberts, and Congressman Kevin Yoder (KS-3), to make ourselves very clear that any interference in US democracy will not be tolerated by its citizens.
Can't make it to an in-person visit? No problem! We've got a letter campaign ready for you.
Fresh off of our healthcare-related victory in Washington, we're ready to put the spotlight on Topeka about Medicaid (KanCare) expansion.
Also we have some VERY exciting news! Indivisible KC Presents: Spring Training Workshop April 9th, 2017 at 2:30 PM Mark your calendars and RSVP HERE!
Keep calling and keep sending your letters! You call it resistance? We call it democracy.
