Hello, fellow Kansans!

Both the temperature and the stakes have been rising this week. In the midst of all the headlines, here's what we've got going on this week.

#ResistTrumpTuesdays continues with office visits to Senator Roberts and Senator Moran. This week, we are once again going to talk about Trump's taxes. We will ask our Senators to co-sponsor the Presidential Tax Transparency Act (S. 26), which requires President Trump and future presidential nominees to submit three years of their taxes. Only after looking at Trump's taxes will we know whether his foreign policies are influenced by his business interests abroad.

And on Thursday, we'll take the same issue to our visit to Congressman Kevin Yoder's (KS-3) office. We will ask him to co-sponsor the House version of the Presidential Tax Transparency Act (H. R. 305).

Can't make an in-person visit? No problem! We'll get you started with a letter to your elected officials.

Indivisible KC is also co-sponsoring an exciting new event, Short Films Screening: How To Empower Citizen, with We The Voters and Film Society KC.  Join us after the Climate March for a one-night event on April 29th when we will screen a collection of 11 short films about politics and democracy and how we can become better informed and empowered citizens.

First, we march for Climate. Then we watch for Justice.

Our Kansas State Representatives and Senators are still on recess. When they head back to Topeka, we hope they'll take up passing exemptions to permitted concealed carry on state buildings. Write to your elected officials to speak out against more guns on campuses and in health facilities.

While they're home, ask about getting together for your very own visit: contact your Kansas Representatives and Senators and see when they're planning to meet with you, their constituents. If they weren't planning on it, maybe they will.
