Hello fellow Missourians,

In national news:

• The House released their Tax Bill and it does no favors for middle class families. Majority of the tax cuts go to corporations, leaving the middle class to bridge the gap and paying more to fully fund our schools and roads. This is our Call To Action this week.
• Trump is again trying to undermine a crucial tenant of our Democracy, Justice Department independence.
• The administration released a report that human activity is the cause of Climate Change.
• Social media, Facebook, Twitter, and Google, are being abused, resulting in a threat to Democracy.
  

In Missouri news, we are taking a look at Missouri gun laws, which are among the loosest in the nation. Our guest blogger for this week is Patricia “Peezy” Mullins, a Kansas City attorney who was one of many in that community who were shaken by the unspeakably tragic murder of Tom Pickert. Peezy takes a look at at how Missouri gun laws make violence prevention particularly difficult.
