On September 22nd, National Voter Registration Day, Homeboy Industries will partner with Voto Latino, Rock the Vote, Latino Victory Project and the Los Angeles: Registrar-Recorderto host the first ever public voter registration drive at their Downtown L.A. campus. National Voter Registration Day—a single day of coordinated field, technology, and media efforts aimed to create pervasive awareness of voter registration opportunities—is a cross country initiative made in part by a working group of organizations. The Homeboy Industries Voter Registration Drive will be open to all Angelenos and will provide a unique opportunity to educate previously incarcerated and gang-affiliated men and women about their right to vote as well as offer onsite registration opportunities.
