New York Health Act Week of Action - April 12th - 18th
Week of Action - New York Health Act
Healthcare is a human right!!
In support of the statewide week of action to build power to pass the New York Health Act we are asking our members to support the following efforts!
Call Your Reps!!
- Senator Michelle Hinchey: Senator Hinchey is a co-sponsor of the New York Health Act! We are asking our members to call her office and to thank her for her support. It is important that we encourage Senator Hinchey to be visible in her sponsorship and help us organize and educate people on the importance of this legislation. Making a call to her office and leaving a message is a great way for us to let her know that her yes vote and co-sponsorship is important to our members and people living in her district.
- Phone: (845)-331-3810
- Senator James Skoufis: Senator Skoufis currently is not co-sponsoring the New York Health Act. We need to let him know how important this bill is for his constituents and the state. We are asking people to call his office and leave a message urging him to co-sponsor the New York Health Act and speak to how important this bill is to realizing healthcare as a human right.
- Phone: (845) 567-1270

NYC DSA has been eliciting statements of support for the New York Health Act from union locals, caucuses and inter-union formations. We'd like to expand this project beyond New York City and get similar statements from union locals in the rest of the state. This is a rare moment in time where such statements can really affect a crucial outcome - getting the NYHA out of committee, voted on, and passed.
Join the New York City Democratic Socialists of America’s Healthcare Working Group for a town hall on our campaign to #PassNYHealth!
This is a historic moment for our campaign to pass the New York Health Act, which would provide healthcare to everyone in New York regardless of employment or immigration status. For the first time, the bill has been introduced with a majority of Senators and Assembly members cosponsoring. It's time to make universal healthcare a reality in New York!
