St. Vincent Nurses Strike Support
The St. Vincent nurses have been on strike since March 8, 2021 for safer conditions for themselves and their patients. Their strike is the longest nurses strike in the US in 17 years. Follow this page for updates on DSA solidarity efforts organized by Worcester and Boston DSA.
- The Mass Nurses Association (MNA) has tried to bargain with Dallas-based owner Tenet in good faith, but Tenet has ramped up their aggressive attacks on the nurses, including taking out a full-page ad in the Boston Globe and threatening to permanently replace striking nurses.
- The nurses still need our help with their strike fund. Donate to the strike fund here so that we can keep track of our impact and reach our Strike Fund-raising goals! Boston DSA chapter has committed to matching the next $1000 in donations!
- The strike has been gaining national coverage. Check out these articles in Jacobin, Labor Notes, and Working Mass for more information. Follow updates on MNA's "We Stand with St. Vincent Hospital Nurses" page.
- Tell Congress to investigate Tenet and other large hospital systems for their misuse of federal relief funds.
